Chief Justice Katherine A. Maraman joined the Supreme Court of Guam in 2008. She served as a Judge for the Superior Court of Guam for 14 years.
Justice Maraman serves as a part-time Associate Justice for the Supreme Court of Palau. She currently chairs the Drafting & Grading Committee for the Board of Law Examiners, and co-chairs the Judiciary’s subcommittees on Criminal Jury Instructions, Rules of Evidence, and Rules of Civil Procedure. Justice Maraman is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Guam.
Education: B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Colorado College; Juris Doctor degree from the University of New MexicoAppointed by: Governor Felix P. Camacho to replace Justice Frances H. Tydingco-Gatewood as a Justice of Guam. Maraman was appointed as a Judge of the Superior Court of Guam by Governor Joseph F. Ada.
