Safe School Ambassadors Program

The student-empowered SSA Program engages and mobilizes bystanders to help stop bullying, violence, and other mistreatment. The program uses an “inside-out” approach to promote a safe school climate in over 1,500 schools in the United States and Canada. 20 to 40 recruited students (socially influential leaders of the school’s diverse cliques) participate in a two-day interactive training to be Ambassadors. Several school adults serve as program mentors. Since October 2012, five (5) public and four (4) Catholic secondary schools have been trained.
